Hebrew SeniorLife Addition
Location: Randolph,. MA
Size: 45 units
Architect: ICON Architecture
PH Consultant: Linnean Solutions
Hebrew Senior Life is an addition to the existing Simon C. Fireman senior housing building in Randolph, Massachusetts. The expansion will add 45 new units of housing to the already existing 160 units. The project is pursuing Passive House Certification through PHIUS+ 2018 and is currently Pre-certified and beginning construction. The design incorporates high levels of insulation in the walls and roof and high efficiency heating/cooling, hot water and ventilation to minimize energy loads. Leveraging the strength and vibrancy of the existing community and its service-rich programming, this building provides a variety of additional spaces for flexible programming and choices while creating a stronger network of paths and nodes to enhance mobility. The three-story building, surrounded by ample woods, creates new courtyards and accessible paths to both active and passive open spaces. The project is expected to begin construction in the Spring of 2022.
