This high-performance, all-electric development is designed to meet the requirements for a Net-Zero Ready building through the Somerville Zoning Ordinance. It is Utile’s first market-rate multifamily development to reach the Phius Design Certification milestone. Further, the project will incorporate mass timber construction, demonstrating the potential for alternative, low embodied carbon structural materials for multifamily housing in Somerville. The team will pursue full Passive House certification as the project begins construction.
